The General English for Teens course is for 12 to 18 years olds who want to
improve their English language skills
and practise their English with other teenagers from all over the world.
Is this the right Teen General English course?
The course will help our teen learners:
Develop their fluency through task-based learning and communicative activities
Increase their awareness of English grammar
Improve their general level of English
Develop their vocabulary around topics which they find interesting
Develop the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing
What will learners of this course study?
Teens who follow this course will be engaged in a number of tasks which are
stimulating and rewarding
. Tasks are varied and can include problem-solving activities, role plays, questionnaires, sharing experiences, reading and listening activities. Our teaching methods ensure that learners are given the opportunity to
use English in meaningful and real life situations

What options does the programme offer?
Teen learners may choose from either:
A Teen General English 20 group course (20 lessons of 45 minutes each per week) or
A Teen General English 30 group course (30 lessons of 45 minutes each per week)
Teen General English courses are offered at
all levels
from Beginner (A1 Common European Framework Reference) to Advanced (C1 CEFR).
Teen courses start every Monday at the European School of English. All learners may take their
placement test
online (www.ese-edu.com) at least 14 days before their course starts in Malta. Alternatively, they may take a placement test on their first day at school to establish their English language level. After their test, teens are allocated to a class which is suitable for their language level and age. Our academic staff ensures that there is a
good mix of nationalities
in every class.
There are a maximum of 15 learners in a class.
Teen learners may also choose the
Intensive
option (combines group lessons with one-to one lessons) or Teen
Private Tuition
lessons. Closed groups which combine General English with a particular focus such as exam preparation, a focus on history or culture are also welcome.
