Participants will be introduced to the DPI framework and approach, and familiarized with a flexible collection of video-based materials developed by York Associates. These focus on the common challenges of working in international teams e.g. building team understanding, creating a clear direction, dealing with conflict and achieving cooperation. The course is designed to provide trainers with materials to design their own specialised courses on international
team development and is also highly relevant for those wishing to integrate this topic within their existing teaching practice.
Communicating Internationally in English

This course aims to develop the core interpersonal skills essential for successful professional communication across cultures. Participants will develop their understanding of the fundamental interpersonal communication challenges which support all human communication:

Teachers from the EU can apply to Comenius & Grundtvig Lifelong Learning Programme for grants of around 2000 euro. Our ETI short courses are eligible for Comenius and Gruntvig funding.

TEFL Induction
This course is designed to give trainees an insight into Methodology, to enable trainees to develop and practise the right skills and tools to teach English as a Foreign Language.

TEFL Exam Preparation Course (Test for English Language Teachers) – EFL Monitoring Board
Aimed at teacher trainees who require a qualification proving their proficiency in English, this 3- part course covers Language Knowledge & Usage, Phonology, Writing Techniques, and gives a good grounding in Grammar and Terminology.
This course is being held in three parts, to cater for individual needs and preparation.
Part 1: Intensive Grammar & Terminology
Dates: September 2012 (2 weeks)
Sessions: Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 16.30 to 19.30
This course covers Intensive Grammar and Terminology. It is recommended for applicants with little knowledge of grammar & terminology used to describe grammar.
It is also open to current EFL teachers who wish to broaden their grammatical knowledge.
Part 2: Preparation & Techniques covering All Areas of the Examination
Dates: October/November 2012 (5 weeks)
Sessions: Monday & Friday from 16.30 to 20.00
The main course covers terminology, phonology, language in context, language sensitivity and awareness, colloquial English, writing, and exam practice.
Part 3: Intensive Writing Practice
Dates: November 2012 (1 week)
Sessions: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 16.30 to 18.30
This course is for candidates who need some extra preparation in writing techniques.
