To best assess the students' level of English, on the first day at school students sit for a short language ability test followed by an interview which serves as a basis to establish their placement in the most appropriate class.

A welcome meeting is usually organised every Monday to inform students of all relevant and necessary information about all services offered at the school including the leisure programme for that particular week.

Welcome Pack

ESE ESE ESE
ESE

On arrival at the airport, students are given a personalised Welcome Pack that contains all the necessary information they may need regarding their stay in Malta. Students are informed of the school they will be attending in the information pack they receive. Besides a Welcome Letter, Map and Discount tickets the Welcome Pack also includes a temporary ESE Student Card. Students are reminded to exchange their temporary card with a permanent ESE Student Card at the ESE Leisure desk on Monday morning. The card will be used for identification purposes at school and certain establishments. It is recommended that the student keeps on him/her the ESE Student Card at all times since it provides some important emergency information such as student's name, accommodation address in Malta, telephone number and emergency contact numbers. ESE reserves the right to charge a replacement fee of €5 for the replacement of a lost Student Card.

Teenage School Transport Service

ESE ESE ESE
ESE

The school offers a daily private pick-up transport service to school for all teenage students. The service operates from a number of pre-designated pick-up points (close to all of our host families/residences) as shown on the ESE map. This service is free and available to all students booked on teenage courses. It is very important for the student to know where and at what time to be at the pick-up point. This will be indicated in their Welcome Pack.

After school, students are offered free transport to ESE organised activities. Students attending afternoon lessons are only provided with free transport to school directly from the morning leisure activity.

First Day At School

ESE ESE ESE
ESE

All new students will sit for a Placement Test which will enable ESE to place the students in a class most appropriate to their age and level of English. During their first day at school, students will be informed about their level and classroom. After the Placement Test the teacher will give out relevant and helpful information with tips and guidelines for a more enjoyable stay in Malta.

ESE Group leaders will visit classrooms giving out important information to every student such as the Activity Programme, which contains a daily overview of the pre-paid and optional activities during that week with detailed explanations of the time, prices, and meeting place of these activities.

Every week ESE organises a Welcome Party to which all new students are invited and at which students will meet most of the ESE Staff members. The Welcome Party is the start to an enjoyable and worthwhile language and leisure experience in Malta.
